Pucker Up! is a sour beer with strawberries added.
Served in a pint glass at The Draft Station overlooking the plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The beer arrives looking like grapefruit juice, pink and orange hued and somewhat cloudy with a thin wispy head. 4.25
It smells very much of fresh cut strawberries with the tartness that an under-ripened or wild berry would offer. 4.25
There's a lactobacillus-like tartness that subtly suggests yogurt and this is then complemented by tart strawberry flavor with a tinge of the syrupy strawberry flavor a frozen berry would give. This kinda reminds me of drinking a yogurt-based smoothie unsweetened. 3.75
Feel-wise this thing is tart and lip-puckering as the name suggests. The body is light-to-medium with a creamy moment or two and some tangy feel. 3.5
I think there's a likable flavor here, but this thing is a workout to drink being as tart/sour as it is.
