Narcissus variation touted to be " dry hopped for a third time " with chinook.
I was not expecting too much more than standard narcissus, but this is an all-around bigger beer ( the abv bump should have tipped me off). And rather than being a heavy, sticky mess, it actually works. Even served at cask temp it comes off as fresh, light considering. The abv and low carbonation. Bold, semi-sweet barleywine characteristics with a big resinous-lemony hop punch. Aftertaste of toast, plum, and wood.
Makes me nostalgic for casked wailing wench. Good stuff, hope they do it again.
