Black Star Co-op "Membeer"
on tap @ Black Star, $5/pint
4.7% ABV, 24 IBUs, 100% Pilsner malt and Galaxy hops
Notes: Clear deep gold body beneath a bright white head. Very good to excellent retention and lacing. Aroma displays citrusy/tropical fruits and cat piss. Some minor malt makes its way through. The flavor follows suit sans cat-piss with sweet malt slathered with citrus (mainly orange and grapefruit). Nicely balanced. Firmly bitter. Dry, lingeringly hoppy finish.
I personally find the cattiness to be very distracting, but I may be more sensitive to it than other people; and knowing that it's coming directly from the Galaxy hops (which are popular now) I have to allow it a free pass.
