Keeping in mind this is "sour" stout/porter I felt it was excellent. Sour aroma, and raspberries. Taste is slight pucker with excellent raspberry presence. The beer maintained these flavors as it warmed. It's going to be tart, it's going to have a sour quality, it's supposed to. Nice brew. underrated brewery in the austin area imho

Look: typical stout-like darkness. Almost undetectable head.
Smell: medium malt. Very light raspberry/fruit aroma.
Taste: burnt pie crust. Bitter and sour raspberry flavor overshadows this beer. Turns it into an almost rancid tasting stout.
Feel: relatively smooth with a medium-light acidic bite.
Overall: concept is intriguing but the raspberry kills this beer. Taste is overwhelmingly tart and makes this brew hard to finish drinking.

Sampled 10/9/2011 at the brewpub. I chose American Stout because thats what the base beer is and thats what the other versions of this beer are classified as here. Could just as easily be a fruit beer.
From the board: "Tart, raspberry version of Dockhand. Dark and roasty with big raspberry flavor/aroma, Rebellious Dockhand goes through a “sour mash” to obtain its distinct, refreshing sourness. 5.4% abv. 34.1 IBU"
Pours dark brown, hazy, with some offwhite head, good lacing, decent retention.
Aroma is sour raspberry, some roast, lots of sweet toffee.
Flavor is lemon and raspberries mostly followed by a malty and burnt brown ale. Some funk is detected.
Body is medium. I think this would be better without the raspberries.
