On tap at the brewpub.

The beer pours a slightly hazy brown color with a white head. The aroma is about what I expect from a brown ale. I get some toffee and nut components, as well as a little bit of grass and earth, as well as some cocoa.

The flavor is more of the same. The cocoa and toffee malts dominate the flavor with just a little bit of grass mixed in. The beer is fairly dry and easy to drink.

Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Sampled 10/9/2011 at the brewpub.

From the website: "Malty, full-bodied, floral/citrus dry hops. Originally brewed for House Bill 660, our House Brown is for people that like their malt with a little kick. 6.0% abv. 30 IBU" **The batch I had was 6.6%.

Pours hazy dark brown, some red showing, low head, low lacing, low retention.

Aroma is caramel, sweet, and nutty.

Flavor is artificial sweetener, toffee, medium/low bitterness, and slightly roasty.

Body is medium as is drinkability.
