Alcatraz Sledgehammer Strong Ale

This came to me with a thin, white head above a deep golden liquid that had achieved great clarity. It had a slightly malty, light nose, but the mouthfeel was thick and warm. The finish was especially warm, not hot, but close. I got a lot of malt on the aftertaste. As it warmed, it became even smoother, which was a real warning to take it easy. I have to desribe it as extremely mild throughout, except of the back of my skull exploding off into outer space. Zounds!
