One of the seasonal selections at the Brewpub, in Orange, CA.
Thin, light brown in color. Kind of was a 'washed out' brown color. Not what I was expecting from a dunkel. Little to no head, or retention (served very cold - might have had something to do with it). Smell was slightly sweet, thin biscuity malt. Light, muted flavor. Light toasted flavor, some sweetness with slight finish of hop bitterness. Thin towards medium body, good carbonation. An OK beer, but was expecting more - slightly disappointing.

On-tap at Alcatraz (Orange)
A: The pour is brown in color with some red highlights and little to no head to speak of.
S: A touch of sweet, biscuity malt, with perhaps a touch of wheat and chocolate.
T: The nose gave me some hope that this one might be a halfway decent beer. I was a bit let down by the flavor, however. Light malt and toasted biscuit flavor provide some sweetness with perhaps an ever so slight touch of hop bitterness.
M: The body is a bit on the thin side, with moderate carbonation.
D: It wasn't my favorite beer of the day, to say the least. A decent nose but a let down in terms of flavor.

Totally clear, light brown beer with active carbonation well after taster glass arrived at table. Thin skin of foam for a head.
A little bit of sweet malt in the aroma.
Flavor has interesting, though slight, fruitiness, with sweet oranges and some kind of berry note. Some corny/caramel malt follows. Flavor peters out with no finish to note: no bitterness, hop flavor, or mouthfeel other than watery to report.
Unfortunately, as the beer warmed a bit, a lacquer character emerged on the palate. Yuck.
A shame, as it started out interesting.
