Honey Oatmeal Stout

Sampled on tap at the brewery with my lady in July '08. Poured into my glass a A used motor-oil black with deep brown on the edges. Tan head about two fingers thick displayed nice retention and good chunks of lacing. Aromas were light for a beer so dark, gas station coffee and toffee. Flavors were more pronounced, coffee again, walnut oil, bittersweet chocolate. Roasted malts and the right balance of hops become more apparent as it warms to room temp. Full bodied and a velvety mouthfeel. Very drinkable, one of their best beers and a good example of the style.
