Got this on tap at Hopcat in Broadripple instead after they had just ran out of Alpine Nelson.

A - Vibrant darker orange color. Slight haze from the dry hops with a fine white head and good lacing.

S - Strong hop fragrance with fresh grapefruit, citrus, and dankness. Some pine, resin, and herbal tones but mostly grapefruit inspired.

T - Terrific hop flavor with a full fruit bouquet hop character with tons of grapefruit, citrus, pine, and resin hops. This beer is fruity and then evolves to a great beer with the other flavors helping the big hop nature. The malt, some caramel, and some alcohol all go into the middle of this beer making all of the great hoppiness really pop on the palate. The bitterness is pretty strong but with so much flavor it only adds to the beer.

M - Medium mouth feel with moderate carbonation. It seems like it would be heavier with the resin and malt but it finishes nicely with a drier, hop kick on the end.

Overall, a terrific beer. Amazing aroma, flavor, feel, appearance, and anything else you would desire in a DIPA. This was definitely impressed with this beer! I've had their pale ale "PDG" and it was a perfect example of the style but not flavorful enough for me and then this one really comes out well! Not necessarily the best DIPA I've ever had but I would definitely recommend it!

Picked up at the brewery a couple weeks ago and poured cold from the growler this afternoon a semi opaque coppery orange to a three floyd's alpha king imperial pint with a long lasting two finger foamy white head leaving a sheet of lace.

Aroma of subtle citrus and floral hops.

Medium bodied, big carbonation, creamy smooth, initial bitter bite with a semi sweet after.

Clearly a big beer, with a huge hops profile that's way way up front, but the malty sweet makes its way from the way back as the beer warms a bit.

Way above par and I'd grab this one again.

Bought at the brewery in a growler, poured the same day into a Founders snifter. I've been meaning to get to a release of this for a while. 9% per the chalk board.

A - Deep, slightly dark and murky orange with a nice and creamy white head. It dissipates into full lacing. Good legs as well.

S - Floral notes form the underlying aroma. Citrus aromas cut through, but nothing too noticeable. Slight amount of grass.

T - Lots of floral qualities dominate the full flavor, orange-like citrus coming in the middle with the bitter bite. The bitterness stings the tongue through the end, although some creaminess mellows it out. The citrus notes in the middle also bring on some of the earthy-hop notes. High bitterness, be prepared.

M - Medium body, good for a DIPA.

O - I like the floral notes that come through, but I think that the addition of a little more citrus would help balance out the back half of the flavor. Well done DIPA, and I'm glad to see this kind of stuff in Indy.
