Sample on-tap and again from growler. Review is growler, though some comparison between the two...

Pours a nice hazy golden orange. Nice thin head adds to a rather attractive overall appearance. I will say that beyond being unfiltered the few floating barley grains (in this and other growlers I've had from here) left in my growler from the tap are kind of a detraction.

Smell is rather mild. Nice pale ale qualities, mild floral and good citrusy hops. A little wet grain.

Tastes good. I'd say that on-tap along with the other lineup, it kind of blends in and disappears. From the growler, taste has a little more presence, with nice toasted malt qualities and some restrained fresh-hop goodness. Citrusy and faint pine, but really a very balanced hop presence. Not an outstanding pale by itself, in that it doesn't really blow away similarly styled beers, but it goes well with pizza, which is what I needed it to do.

Mouthfeel is the medium side of lighter. It feels about like I'd expect, not too thin, good balanced carbonation, even from the growler (about 3 days old).

Overall, this is a good beer. The hops are grown by a friend in Michigan, and it's fun to have a midwest local-harvest ale. A good start, but doesn't outdo many other American well hoped and balanced pales out there.

This growler was filled today. It was noted that the hops used in this beer were provided by sprinkle. Very cool! This beer pours a nice and very cloudy burnt gold in color with orange highlights. The aromas consist of light fresh hops, light dryness, slight pine and Biers house yeast. Its very subtle hoppiness and has a Belgian aspect to it due to their yeast. The flavor is light and enjoyable but it could he a little hoppier and feature more complexity. Again, you get some Belgian influence. It's solid and sessionable and worth a try. The freshness is a big plus. Solid beer, not great.
