33cl bottle from Lachser Getränkemarkt in Bittburg, Germany.
The label says this is a very bitter ale with roasted malts and over 8O IBU's, so this beer is basically a black IPA. The hops used are: Magnum, Cascade and Perle. Next to malted barley there is also roasted rye malt used to brew this ale.
A: very dark brown, nearly black body with a beige head
S: roasty malts, coffee, cacao powder, chocolate, a bit sweetish and a slight herbal hoppiness
T: chocolate and coffee from the roasted malt up front, followed by a bitterness coming from the roasted malts that flows into a more herbal and spicy bitterness from the hops, slight acidity in the back, while the roastiness reappears in the finish
M: on the lighter side of medium bodied, medium carbonation and a long dry finish
O: I personally like a more pronounced roasted maltiness in a black ipa but I still missed the taste of hops. Still this was not bad, just not mindblowing great
