Picked this up at Feine Biere in Gärtringen, Germany. Murky mahogany-brown pour with a one finger beige head with decent retention and nice lacing. Huge spicy, complex nose with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, white pepper, clove, subtle ginger, toffee, and a touch of cocoa. The taste mirrors the nose with hints of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, dark fruit, white pepper, and cocoa. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with slightly fizzy carbonation and a spicy, bitter, dry finish. Overall, a surprisingly complex and flavorful beer, perfect for this time of year.

The label said this is an ale brewed with malted barley, malted rye, oatmeal flakes, vanillapods and long pepper.
L: dark brown body with beige head
S: chocolate, coffee and vanilla, light peppery
T: sweet roasted malts, chocolate , coffee, a sour note in the finish followed by a light pepper touch and more chocolate
F: medium body, a rather dry mouthfeel, lingering aftertaste
O: I expected more from the added spices, I hoped for a more pronounced presence, however what I got was a respectable porter with subtle spicy notes
