Went to the brewery for lunch and got this pale ale to go with my meal.
A - Bright orange color that was mostly clear with a fine white head. Light lacing.
S - Fresh hoppy tones but balanced in the nose. First citrus, then some herbal, pine, and resin characteristics. Similar to Amarillo pale ales; not too strong but citrus then pine. There is malt grain present and a house ale yeast character that all of the Thr3e Wise Men ales have.
T - Almost identical to the smell. The hops are citrusy and light on the tongue with a freshness that is refreshing. There is the herbal, pine, and resin qualities in the middle but surely balanced by the malt, grain, and yeast. Very mild bitterness on the back for this one letting you know that there are american hops used throughout but with the malt, yeast, and carb the bitterness is very short.
M - Light to moderate mouth-feel. Has some bitterness and mostly clean on the finish. Mild carbonation.
Overall, a very good pale ale. Not strong in any way but still good and seemingly fresh flavor especially for being brewed in April almost 8 months after the harvest was over. It's not a beer that I would go to the other side of the city for but if you are already at the brewery I would get this one again.
