P: On-tap in to an American pint

A: SRM is black/dark brown. Nearly opaque. This batch is thicker/darker than last. Head is light tan, 1/2 in, dissipates to line the outsides of the beer. Medium carbonation. Medium lacing.

S: Rich dark roast malt, slightly bittered chocolate malt, coffee notes, touch of hops and light sweetness.

T: Dark roast malt with a nice dry, crisp, bittered chocolate component. Some coffee and a bit of creaminess, touch of hops. No alcohol taste is discernable. Aftertaste is bittered chocolate malt, slightly creamy.

M: Medium/full body. Classic imperial stout feel, medium body, malty, bittered crisp/dry chocolate malt. Finished dry.

O: Omar is the man. 3 Wise Men consistently makes great beer, thanks to the headbrewer. This stout has very good flavor and a nice kick. Didn't pick up any booze, which is amazing for the ABV.

I wish I was rich; I would buy/start a brewery, perch Omar away, and take the regins off and let him make what-the-hell-ever he wanted. This beer does a great job of packing huge flavor in to a format that is profitable. Just wish there was a little more variety from this brewery. For pete's sake, buy this man some bourbon barrels or something. Ok, love-fest is over now. Go get some of this beer while it lasts.

Had on tap at their brewpub.

A- Pours a darker brown color with red hues to it when held to the light. Half finger light tan/off white head that showed poor retention. Light spotty lacing that falls back into the beer.

S- Roasted malts are the first thing I smell. There is a light sweetness in the nose itself that doesn't come from the chocolate malts. I would have to say that was the clover honey they brewed with. Some light coffee notes in the ending of this beer and it is a nice finish aroma wise to the beer.

T- Roasted malts come in the front of the flavor profile making a coffee like note kind of stand out. This really follows through toward the middle of the beer before it dies down to a malty body never really displays much in the darker fruit department but more sweeter although not like milk stout sweetness. There is chocolate tones on the ending of the beer (dark chocolate) with the every end being some honey like sweetness with a light alcohol flavor as well.

M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation was good for the style. Roasted malts and sweetness left on the palate. Aftertate was more honey like sweetness with some darker chocoalte malts and fading alcohol. Flavors were well balanced with the honey at times being a little sweet when sipping but never a off flavor. Medium alcohol drying on the palate.

D- This beer was highly drinkable and I was quite happy with it. The ABV was higher but well hidden. This is not a full blown monster of a stout but I commend them on brewing something a little out of the box. It turned out well and you can tell from the taste and drinkability on this beer.

Pours almost black, with some red that allows some light to shine through around the edges, thin off-white head. I smell some roasted malts, some coffe and slight chocolate. Tastes is roasted malts, some chocolate and some sweetness in there. Slightly bitter finish but very balanced. Mouthfeel is sticky and thick. Very drinkable, pretty damn good for a new brewery.

Pours a great deep black color with nice head and great lacing. Excellent deep roasted malt aroma with great coffee undertones. Most wonderful deep and sweet malty, roasted flavor; wonderful roasted flavors with coffee and chocolate (actual chocolate used from Ghyslain Chocolatier, Union City, IN); it has a great hop hit at the end that lasts with the roasted grains. Goes down great, although the 8% ABV is slightly noticable.

Got to share with friends from a friend. Very awesome of her to pick it up.

A- Pours dark black. No light coming in around the edges. Thin off white head sits atop and leaves quick.

S- Very nice strong nose. Roasted malts coffee notes dominate the nose. Very little other aroma can get past the big coffee smell.

T- Lots of malt flavor. Burnt coffee flavor comes out at beginning of the drink. Hidden in the middle some bitter chocolate flavors peek through. Towards the end, beer sweetens a bit and takes away from the bitterness.

M- Nice full body with quite a bit of carbonation in the mouth feel.

D- Very excited for this brewhouse, as many have drank good craft brews from Scotty's, now they'll have their own craft beer. Could easily drink another glass of this, and look forward to refilling the growler. Thrown off a bit by the burnt flavors at first, but sweetens rather quickly to give good balance.
