Poured a wonderful deep black color with very excellent tan head and great horizontal tan lacing throughout. Great scent, a very deep and rich and sweet maltiness with excellent roasted grain tones. Wonderful flavor, a great thick and sweet malty goodness with wonderful roasted grain flavors; it has an excellent chocolate punch two-thirds the way through and is followed by wonderfully earthy English hop flavors that are wonderfully undertones to allow the sweet and roasty malt go forward. Goes down extremely smooth and wonderful. Have I mentioned how wonderful this beer is? One of the few I've ever bought a growler of.
(History -- named after owner's son)
Edit--even better in 2012, with a great slight chocolate aroma.
