Very confused, as the previous review mentions Amarillo & Simcoe, but the Haymarket menu says this is a Chinook IPA. Served in a 4oz taster glass.

A - Looks nearly identical to Rubber Monkey. I had to smell them to figure out which beer was which.

S - Very odd malt bill, with some dextrose and icing sugar character. Hops impart mostly grass, herbs, and pine, and there's a bit of alcohol present as well.

T - Taste is quite similar, albeit a tad less sweet. More bready malt flavors join the earthy hops, with suprisingly low bitterness for Chinook. Kind of dull.

M - Smooth medium body, lower carbonation, juicy texture, and a lightly resinous finish.

D - Sounds like the original recipe was better. A very 'meh' beer that fell flat when served next to Rubber Monkey. Not sure why Pete would re-use the name with a totally different hop bill - it's not like he's averse to pumping out new beers.

Served in a 16 oz. tulip at Haymarket. Brewed and dry-hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe hops.

Hazy sunset orange, unfiltered and glowing with the light behind it. Foam has a creamy texture, a thin veil of lace coats the glass in sheets, dripping into concentric rings on the way down. Retention is ok, it maintains a slim cap of white foam.

Orangey aroma, slightly dank and catty, pungent at first though it mellows softly midway through the glass.

Firmly bitter grapefruit rind and orange peel, hints of pale malt, tangerine. Moderate dry bitterness, resinous finish. Medium bodied, strikes a nice balance between hop delivery and substantial malt. 7% abv is completely hidden. Growler candidate for sure.
