On-tap at Haymarket. Multiple 4oz tasters consumed.
A - Slightly hazed, but largely transparent golden orange body. A finger of white foam settles to a thin cap and thicker collar, leaving small splotches of lace.
S - Big citrus notes, with plenty of grapefruits, oranges, and tangerines. Some earth and pine notes as well as some faint zesty herbs. Minimal malt character, with only a hint of sugar and caramel in the periphery.
T - Taste is quite similar, with plenty of pithy grapefruit, lemon, and pine, and a very minimal sugar cookie malt backdrop. Moderate bitterness appears mid-palate and lingers into the finish.
M - Pleasant, but active, carbonation, medium body, no alcohol, and a super dry and resinous finish.
D - This is probably the best "regular" IPA I've had from Haymarket. I had it next to Mathias and it stacked up reasonably well. I'd have this one again in a larger glass next time I'm at Haymarket. The bitterness keeps it from being a great option for multiple pints, but I could easily put back one or two throughout an evening.
