The son of Mathias, our signature Imperial I.P.A., this double I.P.A. Packs the same hoppy punch at only Citra hops can bring. Huge aromas of mango and tropical fruit but less booze and malt than daddy.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub.Big orange and tangerine citrus and booziness are the main flavours. Amber coloured. Like a double red with the malting. Fruity. Fuller mouthfeel.Lacey.A different dipa, worth trying.Citra blends in well in this creation, but not for everyone's atke on a dipa.

On tap at Haymarket

A- cloudy dark orange. White head that fades quickly but lacing coats the glass

S- sweet malts, oranges, and grapefruit

T- sweet malts, lots of orange with some grapefruit. Nice citrus hop bitterness.

M- medium body, very creamy and smooth

O- one of the better offerings I have had here. Would have again.

On-tap at Haymarket. 4oz taster glass.

A - Filled to the brim, with a thin white cap and thicker collar. A few small patches of lace linger as the beer is consumed. Lightly hazed bronze body.

S - The smell is a bit muted in direct comparison to Mathias III. That being said, it's largely citrus zest, light toasty pale malts, and not as much tropical fruit as its bigger brothers. Still, pretty solid and among Haymarket's better DIPAs.

T - Taste is more tangerine, with greater sweetness than the aroma - more of a candied citrus kind of vibe to it. Overt malt flavors are very minimal with a touch of sugar cookie present. Finishes with moderate herbaceous and piney bitterness in the finish, that dissipates rather quickly.

M - Carbonation is a bit prickly, body is medium-light. Extremely dry finish with plenty of oily, sticky, hop resins lingering afterward.

D - It's a nice, easy-drinking lower-ABV DIPA. If it had a bit more punch to the aroma and a bit softer carbonation I think this one would be quite excellent. Reminds me a little of Port Wipeout.

A - Orange yellow beer with a white head that that faded to a thick ring and good cap. Big splotches that stick to the sides.

S - Drank this next to Mathias III, and this one has a lot more focus on dank grass and pine. Almost smells wet-hopped, with some bitter resin on the end

T - Taste is full of pine, wet grass, resin, slight tropical fruit, pine. A lot different than its progeny, Mathias III. Malt backbone adds some sweet notes.

O - Very solid. If you like beers that focus on dank and wet, this is a good DIPA for you.
