Packing all the flavor of her big sister, Mother Jones, this little lady delivers all the rewards without all the consequences. A dark belgian ale made with trappist yeast and dark candi sugar. Very nice!

Mini Mojo Belgium Style Abbey Dubbel was a decent Belgium ale produced by Haymarket. The beer poured a caramel/amber color with thin white head that did not lace very well. Teh smell was typical of most belgium beers this style, malty sweetness mixed with banana and clove hints. The taste is primarily a caramel sweet malt with subtle tones of banana and spice. The mouthfeel was good, medium body, low carbontation....ABV level was not rude, which made the beer quite enjoyable. Overall a solid belgium style beer....probably would order this one again.

On-tap at Haymarket. Served in a 4oz taster glass.

A - A half-finger of tan foam settles to a thin cap, thicker collar, and a few spots of lace. Hazy caramel brown body.

S - Belgian yeast, some phenolic notes, a bit of banana and spice, candi sugar, cocoa powder, and fresh-baked bread

T - Taste is somewhat similar - tons of bread and yeast, less overt candi sugar sweetness, some fruity esters, spicy phenols, and no obvious alcohol.

M - Grainy texture, medium body, medium-low carbonation, and a dry, tannic finish. Again, no alcohol present.

D - A solid offering that loses a lot of the fatiguing anise found in regular MoJo. Not an overly sweet dubbel, which I appreciate, but not super-different from the higher alcohol version.
