We love Chad Ryan here at the Pub but the fact of the matter is, he can't close the deal. You can though, with this light bodied, crisp and refreshing table beer.

On tap at Haymarket, sampled during the Bronze and Bombs Haymarket riot documentary benefit.
Described as a "table beer" and looks like a Wit. Cloudy and opaque straw gold, thin layer of white foam stretches across the surface. Murky with no visible carbonation.
Smells grainy and wheaty, relatively rustic from the Belgian yeast present.
Flavor reminds me of a witbier minus the orange peel and coriander. Some muted spice, with an emphasis on the rustic simplicity of the grains and yeast. Effervescent and smooth, possibly from the addition of yeast. It's ok, but certainly nothing unique. A utilitarian beer to pair with food, simple and unfettered.

On-tap at Haymarket. 4oz taster glass.
A - A finger of white foam settles to a thick cap, leaving plenty of lacework behind. The body is a very pale straw yellow with a milky haze to it - it's nearly white.
S - Grains, wheat, lemon, and Belgian yeast. Not the most complex beer, but pretty potent for the lower ABV.
T - The taste is a bit flaccid. There's some sugary malt, bananas, clean cereal grains, a touch of yeast, and a very mild hop bitterness in the finish.
M - Light body, grainy texture, pleasant active carbonation, and a moderately dry finish.
D - It's crushable, but mostly because it's not all that far removed from water - I suppose the texture is a bit more substantial. It's alright, but Haymarket has much more enjoyable low alcohol offerings.

Had a chance to try a new beer from Haymarket....there appears to be a trend in using "lonely" in the names of all their Belgian Single Ales. This particular one was pretty decent. It poured a hazy pale yellow with white head that had a slight lacing on the glass. The smell included subtle spices, malt, and slight banana twang. The taste was very good, a nice belgian malt to balance the spice and slight fruit appeal. The mouthfeel was light to medium...not too heavy which worked well with this beer. There was carbonation present and overall it was a tasty beer.
