The Steve Dahl Show and Haymarket Pub & Brewery present the show’s first ever original beer. The show’s own Jim Ruffato created this recipe and brewed it with our Brewmaster/Owner, Pete Crowley. This APA is floral and citrusy with hints of mango and grapefruit. It is dry-hopped with Cascade, Centennial and Warrior for a huge hop aroma. On-tap at Haymarket. Served in a 4oz taster glass.

A - Looks similar to the The Torch, with a finger of creamy white foam that settles to a thin cap, leaving behind splotchy lacework. This beer is a shade darker, with more of a transparent medium gold color to it.

S - Significantly more hop presence, although it's hard to know whether it's due to the extreme freshness or just more (or better) aromatic hops being used. In any case, there are nice notes of tropical fruits, citrus, and a bit of cheesy and herbal dankness that I sometimes get from Warrior hops. Malt is more neutral here, and contributes some unsweetened bread flavor.

T - This is pretty bitter for the style, verging on East Coast IPA levels. Less of the tropical flavors here, with more of the pine and herbal flavors. The malt character is a touch sweeter than in the aroma, but but still is largely bready.

M - Similar feel to The Torch, but with perhaps a tick less carbonation. Nice chewy, hefty medium body, and also a bit dryer in the finish. Still plenty of mouth-coating residual hop oils and resins.

D - A solidly executed APA that I would gladly have again, but could stand to lose some of the bitterness and replace it with a bit more of the tropical hop notes from the aroma.
