Poured from tap into a 12oz glass. Pours a light yellow color with a small head.

Nice aromatics of bannanas, some spices and cloves. It is lacking some depth, but the aromas are nice and light.

Lighter bodies with a nice feel. Balanced with notes of bannanas and cloves.

Not the most complex beer, but an enjoyable one. This would've been great to have over the summer.

On-tap at Haymarket. Served in a 4oz taster glass.

A - White foam settles to a thin cap, leaving splotchy lace behind. Hazy orange creamsicle body with a nice glow to it.

S - Lots of banana, light clove, slightly phenolic, chaffed wheat - all the typical Hefeweizen flavors are present. Pleasant balance and potency.

T - More wheat and clove here, with lighter notes of bubblegum and banana in the periphery. No obvious alcohol, and fairly refreshing.

M - Medium-light body, with medium carbonation, a grainy wheat-heavy texture, and a crisp and clean finish.

D - It's a good hefeweizen, and quite authentic in it's restraint and balance of flavors. Apparently this uses Weihenstephaner yeast which doesn't surprise me at all. I'd certainly order this again if I were in a light summer mood, although it seems oddly mistimed coming out during Oktoberfest.

What part of pulled pork sandwich for lunch doesn't scream "Try a new hefe while you're at it"? This one (hefe, that is) pours a cloudy sunset straw topped by over a finger of white foam. The nose comprises bready cracked wheat, soft banana, light clove, and some very light orange peel. The taste brings in more of the same, with less of that bready quality, a touch of black pepper, a slightly stronger sense of orange peel, and a stronger banana vein running through the background proceedings. The body is a hefty light, with a very light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda grainy feel. Overall, this is the epitome of a solid hefe: It's not great; it's tasty, but I'd rather have several others before this one.
