Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of strong liquor, sweet malt, hint of roasted malt, slight yeast, wood, and slight hops. Fits the style of an American Amber / Red Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is a strong alcoholic tanginess. Tastes of strong liquor, sweet malt, hint of roasted malt, slight yeast, wood, slight hops, and a hint of dark citrus. Overall, weaker appearance, good aroma, body, and blend.

A- a little darker looking than most red ales. Thick cream white colored head. Little lacing, but that is to be expected of you are including cider in your brew
S- spicy smelling with a stronger sweet than bitter. Can definitely smell the coconut as well
T- delicious. These ingredients really do play well together.
I like the coconut aftertaste as well. I thought it would seem out of place but now I think coconut should be used in beer more often.
M- very soft
D- the most drinkable strong beer I have ever had.

On-tap at Haymarket. Served in a 4oz taster glass.
A - White foam settles to a collar, leaving behind minimal lace. Hazed apple cider body, that I suppose is unsurprising seeing as this contains Apple Cider.
S - Odd mix of mulled cider, caramel, light cocoa, and some clove. There's no spices listed in the description but perhaps that flavor is inherent in the cider itself? Imperial Red was a good choice as a base, as it integrates well with the apple and cocoa flavors.
T - Again, it's a solid blend of cocoa nibs, red apples, crystal malt, caramel, and a touch of clove. Minimal hop presence, and no obvious alcohol either.
M - Tannic, dry, and a bit starchy. Medium body, with lower carbonation. Juicy mid-palate, and no alcohol presence.
D - Definitely the best of this series, as the adjuncts reinforce rather than confuse the flavor profile. I'd drink this again, but there are still a number of other Haymarket offerings I'd rather drink first. Had no problems putting down my taster, but didn't order another.

Served in a tumbler at the brewpub.
Well, shit, with that description (see the note above), how could I refuse this stuff? It pours a clear topaz topped by a finger of glowing cream-white foam. The nose comprises cocoa, light brown sugar, biscuit, and clove. The taste brings in more of the same, along with some red apple, light cinnamon, and very light mandarin orange syrup. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a tasty beer that fortunately doesn't get bogged down in its offbeat ingredient list.
