I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent was smoke...smoke...smoke. The taste was heavy smoke lean with some sweeter undertones. The mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a smokey beer and worth a try.

The look is deep doodoo brown. Well, pretty much black. The head is a natural target employee khaki pants. The aroma smells of sweet smoke. Much like the breath of a Waffle House janitor after their early shift break, ya know smoke, maple sweetness, and slight coffee. The taste however, is a thick smoky dark coffee. Like, left on the burner for too long, and a few cigarette ashes were tapped into the pot. The maple flavor isn't as appealing as the aroma. However, it's not a bad beer. The mouthfeel is medium for sure. Lingering sweetness from the maple comes out as the beer warms up. I'm personally not a huge fan, but I can see this being a fun future barrel aging project.
