12oz can, undated, poured into a Corridor Provisions becher pint glass.
The beer pours a medium amber color, orange and copper hues, lots of clarity with a foamy white head, nice soapy bubbles and a good height that has moderate retention and yields little lace. The aroma is good, amber and caramel malts with bitter citrus rind, pine and grassy earthiness with some brighter fruits and citrus juice, lightly floral and herbal. The flavors are good, assertive earthy bitterness, lots of pine and herbal grassiness, strong citrus peel and nice raw hop leaf with a strong backbone of amber and caramel grain. The mouthfeel is good, crisp, lively medium body that coats well and finishes sharply and dryly.
Verdict: A good IPA from Intuition and their collaborators. Nice expression of piney and earthy hops that is reminiscent of a more malt forward west coast IPA. Easy going and quenches that hop craving well.
