Poured on-tap at the brewery in JAX, the beer was served in a pint glass. The beer is a bright orange-amber color that is slightly hazed. It carries a thin, bubbly head. Great lacing along the glass while you enjoy this brew. The nose is heavy floral sweet with a hint of hops. Flavors are flowery, as well, but a little watered down compared to the aromas. The beer has a mid-bodied, almost light, feel to it. Hoppy end flavors accumulate as you drink it. There is a birrter hopped and tart grapefruit aftertaste, which is enjoyable. The finish is slightly on the rough side with the carbonation and the bum rush of flavors at the end. Decent brew, but a little more consistency throughout the flavor journey would make it a bit more enjoyable.

appearance: lovely amber/garnet glow with nice white fulffy head rentention

smell: competing caramel/toffee vs citrus/piney hops aromas

taste: nice and balanced imperial red ale. This is on the hopped up side of a red/amber ale in the nugget nectar category

mouthfeel: medium bodied perfect amount of carbonation

drinkability: of all the beers I sampled I put this one of the top. well done.

A - Pours with a towering three finger head of off-white foam on top of an amber-brown body with good clarity. The head dissipates slowly and leaves nice, thick lace on the glass.

S - A nice aroma of toffee and pine hops with a little bit of orange.

T - Toasted malt and toffee up front with pungent pine hops and a bit of citrus. More toffee and some caramel in the middle with orange and a hint of grapefruit. The beer finishes with some orange hops and a bit of sweet caramel.

M - Medium body, moderate carbonation, and a fairly sweet finish.

D - Very nice. Good doses of both hops and malt with an excellent balance between toasted malt character and sweetness. The hops are pungent and citrus flavored with just enough force to counter the significant malt sweetness. Very good work from a still young brewery.
