Thin head, very very deep amber body which is likely clear. No lacing. Aromas are fairly sweet with toffee, brown sugar, caramel, molasses with hints of nuts and peat. More of the same in the flavor with toffee, caramel, molasses, more of an earthy hop presence than appreciated in the aroma and an interesting finishing combo of dark fruit and citrus tartness. Hint of smoked malts. Light carbonation on a chewy medium body. Full flavored and nice balance between sweetness and earthy flavors. If available, try this back to back with the Jabberbocky doppelbock.
