For being so "rye heavy" it didn't have a big spiciness I was expecting. Just enough to offset the chocolatey malts.

Thick single finger off white head with excellent lacing on a jet black body. Aroma of both dark and milk chocolate, wood and roasted malts. Flavor is similar with more milk chocolate throughout, vanilla up front with finish going from rye and roasted malts to oak. Dynamic flavor and complex. Flavors blend well. Full body and light to moderate carbonation. One of the better stouts and overall beers I have had from this already proven brewer.
