Had on tap. Found the sweet edge of the original is accentuated here by the bourbon barrel: molasses, caramel, toffee, dark fruit galore especially plum, with the dark grains and yeast put in a complimentary role in both smell and taste. This BA or the non-BA original both have their emphases to create a different drinking experience, neither better than the other. Feel is still full but now a bit warmer with some booze and tannins added, very smooth

Phenomenal! Absolutely loved it. On tap at the brewery in Asheville, relaxed atmosphere and knowledgeable server made the whole experience enjoyable. It was the last beer we tasted. Had to get another, and another and finally a growler to go. Will be back and hopefully it's still on tap.
