Enjoyed at The Common Market at one of their CM.BEER.EDU series tastings with head brewer of CVB, Todd Boera. Leap Day 2012.

A - clear, strawberry pink color with a minimal amount of white head that was never really much more than a ring; sparse, spotty lacing

S - raspberries, lemon, strawberry

T - dry, crisp raspberry fruit, oak, a bit of warmth towards end

M - thin and light with crisp, super-fine carbonation that was almost champagne yeast-like; lasting wood and/or wild yeast flavors left on tongue

O - the fruit was definitely present but maybe i was expecting more considering the amount of fruit that went into each barrel(don't quote me on this but i think it was 40lbs/barrel). i am not educated very well on wilds and sours but i did like this. all of the flavors and aromas were very delicate and the nuances of the beer could be pulled from them.

Served from tap into a Black & Blue III shaker. Poured a very clear red with a one finger slight pink head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, raspberry, earth, tart, and funk. The flavor was of sweet malt, raspberry, wood, earth, subtle tart, and funk. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. This one was the surprise brew for me on the night if I am honest. It was really well balanced and enjoyable. I just wish that the tart raspberry flavor would have been a little more evident than it was. The funk was the star of the show on this one, but it definitely worked out quite well. Definitely glad I got the chance to try this one and I suggest you do the same if you get the opportunity.

A: Pours a dark orange with two fingers of white head that fades into a thin ring with no lacing.

S: lots of tart raspberry and strawberry aromas up front. There are some sweet bread and candy sugars beneath.

T: tart fruit up front reminiscent of raspberries, strawberries, and lemon up front. The finish is of sweet biscuits with a clean, bready aftertaste.

M: light body with medium carbonation, this beer is light and fairly crisp with a clean finish.

O: a pretty decent wild ale overall. I'd like a bit more depth of flavor, but it is still tasty.
