64oz growler from Appalachian Vintner.
Pours black with a dark brown edge. A rough pour produced a small creamy head that faded quickly. Smells of chocolate and booze dominate. Reminds me a lot of dark chocolate cherry cordials. Notes of vanilla, marzipan, coconut and really nice sweet bourbon (no char-like flavor). Sweet chocolate up front, reminds me of Reisin candy with a hint of caramel, builds to a spicy French vanilla accented bourbon finish. Really nice bourbon influence. Definitely strong, but elevates the beers complexity. Weighty mouthfeel, with rich, soft chocolate and spicy/hot booze note that balances and keeps it from being too chewy.
