AnonyHop features a grain bill that has been carefully selected and milled to provide maximum haze. A hybrid hop so new that it is only known by its catalog number. We are keeping it anonymous for now but you can call it #26709. This hop was added at the end of the boil AND in the whirlpool AND even more added in the fermenter for dry hopping. Orange, vanilla and berry notes in both aroma and flavor throughout.

Notes via stream of consciousness: What do we have here? Ahhh, New England style IPA brewed with Hop #26709, whatever that is. Oddly I don't see an alcohol content listed on the label. It's poured a murky amber colored body with golden highlights beneath a good sized head of yellowed off-white foam. There's not a lot to the aroma but this beer is almost 8 months old so I've got to give them a break on that. I'm getting malt, hops, and yeast. It's a bit citrusy, but also apple-like, and a touch piney. On to the flavor... the hops remain citrusy, otherwise fruity (that could be from the yeast as well), and piney with added notes of earthiness and some soft berry. It's solidly bitter, and it appears that they're going for a kind of "Heady Topper" type NEIPA. The malt is fairly basic, just a little bit biscuity and toasty, and could be 100% pale ale malt. It finishes dry and bitter with pine and earth and a little bit of fruitiness lingering. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp with a fine-bubbled median carbonation. Looking back, the head retention and lacing were just OK. Overall it's nice but I'm pretty sure these anonymous test hops, # 26709, aren't going to take the brewing world by storm. It's probably too late but I'd say if you can find it it's at least worth trying.
