Dark, malty, and pleasantly less alcoholic than lots of Dubbels. Nearly opaque in the tulip glass. Warm aroma of oranges and cocoa. Unassuming head but a spritzy mouthfeel. Yeasty like bread rising. Raisins and persimmon fruitiness but not overly sweet. Modest amount of Belgian flavors with a deep roasted malt taste. Some hops, but more of the yeasty bitterness.
Flavorful Dubbel that is definitely on the unchallenging side. Very drinkable and well-balanced. On tap at Local Habit in San Diego.
