Consumed January 19th, 2016 at the Coronado brewpub. Served on nitro.
Clear dark brown with deep garnet highlights when held to strong light. Creamy off-white nitro head provides uniform and long-lasting sheeting.
Aroma is more traditional porter than peanut: deeply roasted grains, mild coffee and dark chocolate. Peanut aroma noticed as well.
Flavor is mild and similar to nose, though peanut is more pronounced. Moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy and thin (as typical for the style ).
Overall, it's a nice variation and worth a drink if you find it.
