Collaboration with Monkey Paw Brewing. They call it a "San Diego Pale Ale," which apparently means it's too strong to call it a Pale Ale. It tastes peculiar enough to fit with the American Strong ale company, in any case. From the 32 oz growler purchased this evening at the brewery tasting room.
Clear amber with plenty of white foam in the Duvel tulip. Warm and malty with a candy-like strangeness. There's an interesting hop flavor, like Citra or Mosaic. Lime peel with a marmalade taste. It's all just a little icky, but it's quite a mouthful. I think I"ll have another.
