Poured from 22oz bottle into Spiegelau Stout glass. Bottled on October 18th, 2017. Super shocked that I am the first to rate this, thought it would be a popular beer. Oh well.
L: Pours a almost completely black but some light barely comes through on the edges leaving a ruby hint. Beautiful finger width khaki head that retains amazingly well. Lacing doesn't exist because there is a complete layer around the glass. It is simply stunning.
S: Initial sniff lets in a rush of chocolate and vanilla with a bourbon flare at the end that subtly turns into a faint cherry.
T: Starts with some rich chocolate and cocoa-y goodness, then the bourbon swoops in and warms the throat and stomach and then slowly the vanilla lingers on infused with some very faint cherries.
F: Super smooth and creamy, full bodied and crisp, lingering bourbon and vanilla.
O: Really a remarkable beer, best I have had in quite some time although I just got a bottle of Founders CBS that will probably knock this out of the park.
