On tap at Coronado on 7/9/09. Described as "baby Idiot IPA."
A - Clear golden body with medium carbonation and half a finger of creamy off-white head that retained well and yielded intricate lace around the glass.
S - Pretty aromatic citrusy hop profile for a lighter pale ale. Malt character is primarily toasted and grainy with some sweet caramel notes. A mild spicy character also emerges. Amarillo hops come to mind.
T - Flavor is more malt than the aroma suggested, with toasted grains and sweet caramel notes. However, the bitterness never waivers and lingers on through the finish with a citrus hop bite.
M - Light to medium bodied with a syrupy texture and pretty lively carbonation, resulting in a bristly mouthfeel overall. Bitterness is fairly aggressive on the palate.
D - Quite hoppy for a pale ale with only 4% ABV. Drinks more like a light IPA with plenty of flavor and a fairly aggressive hop presence.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours golden and clear with a decent white head. Described as a 'low alcohol IPA' but this one obviously lacks the requisite hop punch. Aromas of light citrus, not much else. Flavor is citrusy up front and very pale malty through the middle and finish. Hardly any bitterness. Medium-thin body, easy to drink, just not very flavorful. Falls well short of the description.
