The now too familiar big stark white foamy head is first noticed. Typically, it's receding unevenly with irregular lacing. It's very unappealing and usually indicates there's too much wheat in the wort. This is now a common sin committed by even the best breweries. What's left underneath is a slightly opaque liquid, very light amber in color. All this after a pint can of the brew was emptied into a clear glass Imperial pint mug. There's very little to smell, which is another telltale of too much wheat in the wort. The taste is blandly hoppy, nowhere near as biting as a West Coast IPA should be. The hop presence is so weak, there's no reason to try to define its vagueness. The mouthfeel at best approaches an adjunct lager. Even if expectations from a brewery such as this are overlooked, this is a worthless beer. Knowing it's from a respected brewery makes it even more intolerable. There really is nothing good to be said about this one.
