On-tap at Blue Palms

A: The pour is a pale golden color with a finger or so of white head.

S: Nice hoppy nose to this, which I really wasn't expecting. Pale malts give the beer a mild sweetness to go along with the grapefruit and tangerine from the hops. Hints of tropical fruits are also present.

T: Much of the hop flavor manifests itself in the form of citrus peel. Plenty of grapefruit as well as a solid dose of pine and floral flavors. A moderate bitterness to go with the slightly sweet, bready malts.

M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation.

O: Good hop aromas and a pretty good hop flavor. Pleasant and easy to drink.

On tap at Coronado Brewing. Described as a "Generously hopped golden ale or a sessionable IPA. Brewed with a simple malt bill for a clean bread flavor, with an aggressive amount of American hops added."

A: Transparent straw gold with a small white cap.

S: Lightly floral, with aromatic citrus that reminds me of orange, tangerine, and grapefruit. Malt is very light, imparting no noticeable characteristics in the nose.

T: Malt is faint and crackery, imparting no sweetness and almost no flavor. A pleasant upper moderate bitterness accompanies notes of orange pith and flesh. Pine is light and there's a little grapefruit.

M: Light in body with upper moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is crisp and dry.

Overall: An enjoyable hoppy pale ale. Recommended.
