Deep and richly flavored with coffee and caramel front and center. Near black color in the tulip glass. Fairly moderate body and on the dry side.

Big, full dark roast flavor predominates. Some charred malt with just a hint of the sourish charcoal to balance the mellower mouthful of malt. The winey taste with a hoppy twang. Less bitter than a lot of stouts. Watery aftertaste and not very distinctive. Would be an agreeable quaff, but alas, served in a 10 oz glass.

On tap at London Grill with one of the brewers from Coronado in attendance.. Notes from the first day of Philly Beer Week, June 1, 2012.
