I had this beer on-tap in a taster glass at the brewery.
Appearance: medium amber hue with plenty of hazed and a good head of creamy ivory foam. There’s good persistence here and a nice lace left on the glass. Pretty attractive!
Smell: lightly herbal with a bit of sage character. Not too bad.
Taste: very herbal. It tastes like a mild pale ale with lots of grassy herbal character; I get sage more than the spruce, thyme and rosemary, but there you go. Not my bag but you could do a lot worse.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and a great creaminess. I dig it.
Overall: this beer may be what the brewer was going for, but it doesn’t seem especially well-crafted. Not terrible, but frankly, I don’t love it.
