I had this on-tap in a taster glass at the brewery.

Appearance: deep, dark brown, but not yet black, with a good haze and a layer of ivory foam. Reasonable!

Smell: lightly roasty but with a bit biscuit element. Frankly, not among my favorite beer flavors.

Taste: almost like a really dark amber ale. Lots of caramel, biscuit and ambery shenanigans. Perhaps not my favorite.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a good creaminess. If there’s anything NW Peaks does well, it’s mouthfeel.

Overall: it just isn’t a beer for me. Too much biscuit in this bad boy.

A: Poured amberish brown color with a small dirty white cap, light lacing and minimal head retention

S: A little bit of spice, some toasted grains and light whiffs of cocoa

T: Initial sordove graininess came to mind and the palate. A little spicy, some underlying cocoa, toasted malt and biscuit with a lingering bitter grainy finish

M: Light to medium bodied, well carbonated but seemed a bit thin for the style

O: Not bad but this beer needs to be a bit more robust and warming for me as I sure needed a heartier Winter Warmer on this cold beer trek across Ballard

Pours dark amber into 6 ounce glass at Chuck's 85th. Smells hoppy and bitter, a bit spicy. Taste is very spicy, very strong and bold. Sort of bitter going down. Not as drinkable as some of the others on tap, but far from the worst I've seen. Not my favorite, but not bad either.
