And here we are: Me with you (Solvang Lager as a person), and you with me. And it’s kind of like that: We are together, but there’s not much to talk about. You like Dragonball Z, and me, well, I don’t. So we’ll sit and we’ll sip for a while (maybe we’re in a coffee shop or something). But when it feels like it’s the time to leave, I’m gone (and I won’t bring out a uni ball pen to jot down your info).

quality helles here, very light, but with definite european malt and yeast characteristics that make it leagues more flavorful than domestic yellow beer for the most part, a little thin to me perhaps in mouthfeel, but fresh, well made, and simple in a good way, all season all day beer, yellow golden in color with a short white head, aroma of pils type malt, minerals from the water, and lightly grassy hops, noble i would guess. some breadiness from the lager yeast with the crackery malt in the flavor, good balance and proportions, and good attention to detail. its on the dry side but not totally so, has some real german flare from the grain, and is well enough carbonated to be refreshing. maybe not a life changing lager here, but this brings quite a bit to the table while still being mighty drinkable. i like this kind of thing in the fall, good weekend football beer, thats what i think of with this one. i was impressed with the two beers i had from these guys recently, and will hopefully get a chance to try more of their stuff before too long. light, clean, easy, authentic.
