Sent to me by @ozzylizard (Thank you!) and as it was a gift I drank it Christmas Eve.
The pour is straw - yellowish amber with an impressive 1.5” head that would have gone higher if my pint glass was bigger.
The Beer’s sole identity was “one pint ale” no ABV, style, description, nothing. Very odd. So I went in blind and found spice, almost like pepper, the kind that is usually found on dinner tables.
Eventually some pine and a little mango elbow in.
The feel is light and crisp, but with some body behind it.
OA, I enjoyed it, tasty gift!

Zap Rowsdower from Beaver Brewing. 16 fl oz can. Purchased online from Beaver Brewing, Beaver Falls, PA, 24/11/24. $ 6.31 (Including tax and shipping), $ 0.394/fl oz. Reviewed 08/12/24 (Review 3413). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Stored at 39 degrees F at home. Served at 44.6 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 50.1 degrees F.
Appearance – 4
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), hazy.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, translucent straw with a slight greenish tint.
Head: Large (Maximum 4.7 cm, aggressive center pour), white. Medium density. Slowly drops to a 0.1 - 0.9 cm crown and a thin, rocky, cap.
Lacing –
Aroma – 4 – Slightly spicy hops with herbal hints. No malt, no ethanol (No ABV marked on label, 4.9% according to BA).
Flavor – 4 – Begins and ends lightly spicy. No gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Thin; watery; lively carbonation.
Style: Follows the style guidelines as condensed by BA.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Lack of information (can date, ABV) is regrettable. Both flavor and aroma are better than I expected from a semi-local brewery, making an easy drinking, pleasant IPA.
