Pours a deep coppery brown color with a khaki colored head which leaves lines of lace. The aroma is big and inticing. The smell of campfire smoke draws you in over caramel malts. The taste follows suit, there is a nice malty caramel backbone to start before a big smoke back end comes up. The mouthfeel is smooth and velvety. Overall it is a very good beer, the aroma pulls you in and the flavor keeps you around.

I have had several smoked beers, and none I have liked til now. This isn't an ashtray like smoked beer, it is smokey, but not over the top. It really picks up in the back of your palate. Wonderful smokey aroma that gives way to some maltiness and a touch of hops. The brewer told me it was wet hopped with Santiam hops. I got a few at the pub and will get again if they make more. Nice fall beer.
