A birthday gift from the family in August 2023. Drunk in October 2023.
L: Deep golden in colour, with a bubbly, frothy white head. Loads of small-bubbled carbonation rush up the glass.
S: Ripe stone fruit and fermenting hay. I've not come across that last aroma note in an IPA before and it's certainly different. Not bad, just different.
T: Stone fruit, especially peach, and perhaps a slight touch of tropical pineapple and guava in there. Underlying that is a caramel malt backbone. The bitterness is medium, and the finish is dry.
M: Mouthfeel is full and smooth. Carbonation is minimal and perhaps a touch too soft. There's a nice warmth in the mouth and gullet after the swallow, which I assume is hop-driven.
O: This is quite a nice IPA with a distinctive nose and a nice flavour profile.
Cheers!
