on draft, in a snifter
black in color, tan colored head. nice strong aroma of mild roast and earthy hops. taste is fairly bitter from the hops, the malt and hop flavors work well together. medium bodied.

Pours an effervescent mahagony. great lacing & below average head retention
S: Pine & chocolate
T: Dry, piney, spicy like maybe there is some rye in this? up front. Dryness, roastyness, piney astringency as this warms, a little chocolate too. Finishes piney, spicy, & dry
MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation, alright balance
Drinks alright, needed more hop pop & depth on the body. Worth a try if you are into this style

Missed Rougaroo on its debut release last year; finally had on draft into tumbler.
Surprised at the colour and flavour of this rather strange, almost uncharacterizable yet interesting beer.

Appearance: pitch black no head
Aroma: light chocolate, caramel, roast with a hint of pine.
Flavor: in check roast, hint of chocolate and citrus peel.
Mouthfeel: medium+-full bodied low carbonation
Overall: very well executed black IPA. Bitterness and roast are at very cohesive and drinkable levels and a hint of caramel and chocolate sweetness goes well with the citrus.
