Brewed with a blend of wheat and oats, this beer begins with a creamy mouth feel, enhanced by loads of orange and tangerine peel. We doubled the malt to lend a richness of texture unique to this style of beer, and of course, to up the alcohol percentage! Huell Melon and Trident hops accentuate the citrus and tropical fruit undertones of this DIPA, while Hallertau Blanc hops add the complexity of white wine for that dry, effervescent champagne quality that is the hallmark of all mimosas!

Turbid and worse off for it...has a dull muted orange body that looks lifeless.

Aroma shrieks citrus and I dig it. Tangerine and orange peel acidity, orange zest, clementine, pink grapefruit...it's marvelous. Maybe even some blood orange. Maltwise, I think I'm picking up on wheat, but certainly pale malt (2-row, I'd guess). The fruit seems to eclipse whatever hop varietals they used, but they seem harmoniously citric.

Aptly acidic in feel with a mellow citrus medley driving the beer's flavour. Subsidiary white wine flavour and melon flavour are imparted by hops, but the star of the show is the citrus fruit. ABV is disguised dangerously well, which fits with the whole Brunch mimosa vibe they're going for. Pale malt/2-row, wheat. I don't taste the oats, but it's got a smooth texture.

Wet and even bordering on refreshing despite its 8.5% ABV. Well-carbonated. Full-bodied. Lacks champagne-like effervescence (which would help Tin Roof hit their mimosa-inspired beer target).

Balanced if a bit lacking in assertive or pungent hop flavours for an IIPA. The fruit takes first chair and the hops seem like a bit of a letdown in comparison, but it's an enjoyable brew that mostly delivers on its otherwise gimmicky premise and I'm enjoying working my way through the 4-pack. Respectable though not dazzling work from Tin Roof.
