Whether you’re an avid sportsman hitting the links, or secretly only in it for the funky clothes and day drinking, The Back Nine Hazy IPA will be your go-to brew this Fall while breezing down the fairway!

Pillowy clouds of malted and flaked oats and White Wheat mingle and meld, bestowing this beer with its golden glow. A triple threat of Citra, Vic Secret, and Barbe Rouge Hops impart indulgent notes of red berries, lemon, and a variety of herbs and pine. The unique combination of airy malts and lush hops result in a perfectly hazy juicy India Pale Ale that is entirely drinkable and a real crowd pleaser.

The Back 9 has a medium, off-white head and a translucent, orange appearance, with no lacing. The aroma is of a bit of fruit and white bread crust. The flavor is of those elements, with sweetness, but negligible bitterness. The Back 9 has a medium body and a mostly-dry finish. It comes across as more of a pale ale than an IPA.

Bringing a certain caddyshack vibe to the beer bar, Tin Roof suggests that we need something a little stronger, hoppier and hazier for the second leg of the golf game.

The Back 9 pours expectedly hazy with a matte golden hue. As a creamy white froth builds on the rim, the scent of tropical fruit, citrus, green berry and herb decorate the nose. Yet to taste, a sweeter tone takes place with cereal, honey and shortcake.

Then the focus shifts back to the hops as the ale washes the middle palate. A full tropical spectrum of pineapple, mango, passionfruit, papaya and pawpaw all add a creamy but exotic tropical taste akin to sherbet. Citrusy with lemon, orange and grapefruit, the ale trends smoothly bitter with suggestions of green tea, verbena and hemp as the session nears close.

Medium bodied and creamy throughout, the beer's smoothness offsets any hop bitterness for a fuller, more plump malt sensaiton. But for those days on the back nine, a more refreshing, crisper and cleaner beer might be in order.

Color is more of a hazy IPA than a regular IPA in my opinion. Head was white and gave way to a ring around glass, not so much lacing though. Nose is the typical citrus. Taste is citrus and pine. Has a white pepper finish, very dry too.
