A 500ml bottle of the Yorkshire Bitter was graciously provided to me by Casey Hard, the Prince of Beer at Maxs in Fells Point. He indicated it wasnt available in the States and, from reviewing the Daleside website, may not be available in the Isles, either. It looks to be a mild style and pours up a cloudy light orange in the glass. The head took off pretty quickly but left a nice lacing. The aroma was subtle so I stuck my nose into the glass as far as it would go and got some sweet maltiness with a slight earthy note plus some flowery hoppiness. The Yorkshire tastes fairly complex (as the brewer, Craig Witty, states on the label) with a range of sweet and toasty malt flavors. The conditioning is light and perks thing ups just enough. The hops are not bold but they are persistent, providing good backbone all along the way. There is a lingering and delightful finish. Its a pretty decent beer, very drinkable and fairly unusual. Thanks, Casey !
